ONE YEAR MARK!!!

It's been a little over a year since me and Tim were married! Boy how time flies by! Regrettably, I started a blog at the beginning of our marriage and haven't had the drive to be consistent with it ever since! I never imagined life being so busy as it has been this past year! I definitely have some ground to make up, so I guess I'll start by giving a little bit of mine and Tim's history together.

Like most married couples here in Provo, me and Tim met through our church! It was a monday night in 2010 when we first met and Tim had just finished his two year missionary service a week or two prior. After that night our friendship continued to grow and finally about 5 months later we started dating, and eventually after a year we decided to get married in the Salt Lake City temple. What a blessing our marriage has been for the both of us this past year. So many memories in such little time! After our wedding day we took a wonderful 4 day honeymoon cruise to Ensenada, Mexico and then hurried on back to Utah so that I could get ready for my last semester of Dental Hygiene school! This was probably one of the more challenging phases of our marriage (financially speaking). While I was in school, Tim was only making 8 dollars/hour working full time as a BYU janitor. When I look back I seriously don't even know how we ever made it by, but make no mistake we sure did learn how to grow up FAST and learned the importance of budgeting and making sacrifices. Tim is majoring in Spanish and at the same time taking all of the rigorous science classes for pre-med so after summer was over, he started up his second year at BYU.  Thankfully, after our first six months of marriage I passed all of my boards test and graduated from dental hygiene school. Utah is definitely over saturated with both dentists and dental hygienist's but thankfully after a month or so of searching I was able to get a great job working full time! Tim is now going into his third year of school and now just got two part time jobs working for Jetblue and a pharmacy in Orem.

We love life together and have grown to love each other more and more each day. Of course, life's not always perfect, and there are occasions when we have our disagreements. I CAN'T STAND that Tim is a total insomniac and can live off of 4 hours of sleep a night. It's like pulling teeth trying to get him to go to sleep at a decent hour.  It would literally be no surprise to me to wake up in the middle of the night to see Tim coming in the door with groceries from Wal Mart! Right now I am working with him on fixing his schedule and if he doesn't I'm going to have to start spiking his drinks with some Zzz-quil! Now if there's something Tim can't stand about me, it's my sneezes! For some reason when ever I sneeze I always let it out with an uncontrollable squeal at the end. This mostly bugs Tim when it happens during church meeting's or any similar setting. Tim thinks that I do this on purpose to draw attention but that's just not the case!

Without a doubt we are definitely each others best friend! We can trust one another and can't get enough of eachother's company. I am looking forward to spending forever with my husband and making wonderful memories along the way!

Some pictures of our first summer as newly weds!!!

These are some of the girls in my school

Giving local anesthetic... Idk why she's so happy haha
So May 27, Tim turned 23 and we had a small party at our house. Some of our sweet family drove down from Bountiful and some of Tim's friends came over. We had cake, chips and ice cream. We also played some games. Ben, Tim's brother gave him savannah's diaper and a hugo bosses underwear inside a tool box for a gift... it was pretty funny.

Hugo Boss underwear haha When Ben walked out of our house he took the underwear back with him.... So Tim doesn't have them anymore.

There's the dirty diaper from Savanah

This semester we also were able to go to Tim's mission reunion and I was able to meet his mission president and his wife. They were so sweet. Apparently everyone loves Tim... I think he was really popular on his mission haha. He's the best!
Idk why I always look possessed in pictured haha
We also went to Tim's brother in law's graduation up in Rexburg, idaho. We only spent a night there with his family but it's always so good to be with family. It's too bad we don't see them more often.
Yay for Josh!!!

The fam
We went bowling for one of our date nights. I'll have to admit that I suck! haha but that's ok because when we go miniature golfing I win!We also picked up tennis and try to play it on the weekends. We want to get really good so we can play other people. We'll see how that goes....
He's so handsome!
Ok anyways that was our life May-July in a nutshell!!!

The honeymoon

Our honeymoon!!! It all started at the Grand America hotel in the honeymoon suite. We spent a night. There was a ton of people at the hotel. They were having like a cowboy conference (don't ask me what that is). So the elevators were so full. I was still wearing my wedding dress and Tim was still wearing his suite. It was so funny that as soon as the people saw us they started to congratulated us and then they let us go up the elevator so we wouldn't have to wait (they were so nice) We got to our room and ate the chocolate covered strawberries that were on the table. Oh! they were so good. There was rose pedals all over, Tim's cousins and siblings had decorated the room before we got there. There was all sort of wedding night gifts everywhere too haha we had no idea what they were. Well needless to say, it was a great night. It was so good to spend it with my most favorite person in the world.

these were so yummy!!
The next morning (Sunday) we woke up and went downstairs to get breakfast. We had eggs, sausage, fruit, orange juice, biscuits, every breakfast food you can think of. It was delicious! We then headed off to California. It was a fun road trip. We drove 10 hours and the whole time we talked about how awesome it was that we were MARRIED! haha we were still shocked how fast everything happened. I mean we planned our wedding for 3 months and then when the day came, it flew by so fast! When we got to California we spent the nitght at Tim's house. It wasn't awkward at all. We actually had fun talking to Patty and Darrell about how great the wedding was. Monday we went to long beach and took our Cruise. We were on our way to Catalina Island and Ensanada, Mexico. I'm just going to be truthful the whole time we were there we just ate like pigs! haha the food was everywhere, it was free, and it was so delicious:) Believe it or not we actually did manage to work out........ once... haha we were planning on doing it everyday but it didn't happen. We went out to the pool and jacuzzi. Once we got to Catalina Island we got down but it was freezing cold! so we actually just got back on the boat and explored around. Every night we would go to this really nice restaurant and sit at the same table with the same people. We had assigned sits. It was funny because they were all couples on their honeymoons too. And 2 of those 4 couples were BYU students. When we got to Ensanada the weather was a whole lot better. We rented a taxi with our Spanish skills for a pretty good deal and had him take us around all over Ensanada. We were able to see a ton of different beaches, we went horse backriding, we got authentic tamales, we went to the fair, and we went to see the famous blowhole in Ensada called La Bufadora. Super fun!
This was our cruise: Inspiration

The Beginning

Ok so I figured since I haven't written in my journal since like high school I would do a blog which is like a journal.... right?? Tim was really good at writing in his journal during his mission but then he came back, don't judge! We'll be better now ;)
I'll start with our wedding day: We got married April 28, 2012 :) Happiest day of our lives!!!! Wouldn't change a thing. We got married in the Salt Lake temple for time and all eternity. The temple sealer was amazing! Tim and I loved him. After the Temple we took tons of pictures with our photographer, Tyson Stevens. He's the sweetest ever! We took pictures till we had to go to the reception. It's weird that I was wearing like 6 inch heels, walking all over the temple grounds and still never felt tired, not even after the reception. I think I was full of adrenaline and way too excited to be tired... (idk if that makes sense). We were so happy that almost all our family was able to make it out. We had family flying in from Arizona, Ecuador, Florida, Texas, California, and Idaho. We are so thankful they were all there to share our special day. Oh I just need to add that ever since Tim and I got engaged I would beg him to sing to me at the reception (he always sings in the car and I think he's really good), he would look at me as if I were crazy and told me that there's no way he'll do that! I kept insisting haha. Anyways He was so good at keeping his little secret and surprised me at the reception! He sang to me in Spanish (Bendita tu Luz by Mana) and played the piano. He did so good! He is so precious! I'll never forget that detail (one of my favorites). I'm so lucky to have such a loving husband who makes my dreams come true. Ok so here are some of our wedding pictures and our video.'
